General Health and Safety Management Training [GEHESAM] Level 2

A Comprehensive outline of the basic principles and practices necessary for effective Health and Safety Management.

Learner Objectives

  • To assist the learner to play a meaningful support role in a team implementing and maintaining a SHE programme.
  • This is a bridging course for junior SHE practitioners who have successfully completed GHSTC course and AHSTRACT but who have little practical programme management skills and experience.
  • Candidates will be able to assimilate relevant legislation and guidelines and motivate the application of proven principles in a SHE programme.

  • Introduction to Swaziland Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2001.
  • Philosophy of incident prevention
  • Creating an awareness of the need for SHE management
  • Understanding the human factor in health & safety
  • Why and how to communicate on SHE matters
  • Communication and management infrastructures
  • Practical applications in the workplace
